Terms in this definition
- Role
How an actor normally or expectedly behaves, or the part a person takes in a process. A single actor may hold more than one role.
- VCF Automation
Self-service platform in VCF for provisioning VM, Kubernetes and AI workloads. Providers manage regions and tenants in one portal, while tenants handle projects and consumption in theirs.
- Provider
The organisation that shares data in OpenSharing. Recipients also see a provider as a Unity Catalog securable, from which shares can be mounted as catalogs.
- LIKE
Compares strings with a pattern that can contain the % and _ wildcards. Because it only understands character patterns, searching big volumes of text this way is much slower than using full-text search.
- Organization User
Lowest built-in VCF Automation global role: enough to sign in and be made a member of projects.
- ALL
A DAX function that ignores any filters and gives back every row of a table or every value of the named columns. Used within CALCULATE, it works as a modifier that clears filters, although REMOVEFILTERS states that intent more clearly where it is available.
Related terms
- Organization Administrator
Predefined global role in VCF Automation that sets up an organization from the Organization Portal and looks after its users, groups and roles.
- Organization Auditor
Built-in VCF Automation global role with view-only rights, matching an Organization Administrator's visibility without any ability to make changes.
