Terms in this definition
- Schema

catalog.schema.table), grouping tables, views, volumes, functions and models inside a catalog. A grant on it covers everything in it now and later, and nothing inside can be reached withoutUSE SCHEMA. - Azure Database for MySQL
Managed Azure hosting for MySQL Community Edition relational databases, now in its flexible server form. Azure handles backups and patching, offers zone-redundant high availability, and it is often chosen for LAMP stack applications.
Related terms
- Amazon MSK
Amazon's managed Apache Kafka offering on AWS. In Fabric Real-Time Intelligence it can be added as an eventstream source to pull in its topics.
- Apache Airflow job
A code-first Fabric Data Factory item for orchestrating work as Python DAGs on managed Apache Airflow, offering starter or custom pools, autoscaling and syncing DAGs from Git. It succeeds Workflow Orchestration Manager in Azure Data Factory and sits alongside pipelines as their code-based counterpart.
- Apache Gremlin
The Apache TinkerPop language for traversing graphs. The matching Azure Cosmos DB API holds data as vertices (the nodes) linked by edges (the relationships), suiting cases where links between items matter, like social networks or recommendation engines.
- App Service plan
Billing unit providing the compute, defined by region, OS, pricing tier and instance size and count, on which one or more apps run. Separate plans are needed for Linux and Windows apps.
- arcuser
Account, belonging to arcgroup, under which the product-managed Telegraf agent runs on Linux machines monitored by VCF Operations. By default it is set up automatically, and it requires particular privileges.
- Auto swap
An App Service deployment slot option that, after each deployment and once warm-up finishes, swaps that slot into production without manual action. Linux web apps and Web App for Containers can't use it.
- Avro
An Apache file format that stores rows: a JSON header describes the layout, followed by record blocks held as binary. It compresses well, cutting storage needs and bandwidth.
- Azure App Service
Platform-as-a-service hosting in which Azure runs the servers behind your HTTP-based applications, such as websites, REST APIs and mobile back ends, on Linux or Windows. Load balancing, scaling, sign-in and deployment slots are built in.
