Terms in this definition
- Auditing
Azure SQL capability that sends database audit logs to Log Analytics, Event Hubs or a storage account; that account is allowed to be in a different region.
- WINDOW
Returns rows from a sorted, optionally partitioned table, either at fixed positions (ABS) or relative to the current row (REL). Running totals plus moving averages are common uses.
Related terms
- Automatic backups
Backups that Azure SQL takes on its own, allowing point-in-time restore over a window of 1 to 35 days. Keeping backups longer requires long-term retention (LTR).
- Azure Backup
Azure's backup service, which keeps recovery points, long-term retention included, in a Recovery Services vault. It restores data rather than failing workloads over, which is the job of Site Recovery.
