Terms in this definition
- Event
Table in Log Analytics where entries from Windows event logs are kept.
- Dedicated cluster
To encrypt Azure Monitor Logs with your own keys, the Log Analytics workspace must be linked to this cluster tier. Setting a CMK on a storage account gives Log Analytics no such protection.
- Microsoft Entra
The umbrella brand covering Microsoft's identity and network access portfolio. Internet Access, Private Access, External ID and ID Governance all belong to it, built on top of the core directory service, Entra ID.
- Diagnostic setting
Configuration sending a resource's metrics and logs to a storage account, Event Hubs, Log Analytics or a partner solution; a resource can have five at most.
Related terms
- Microsoft Entra sign-in logs
Every sign-in to your tenant is recorded here, sorted into four groups: users signing in interactively, users signing in non-interactively, service principals and managed identities. Send them to Log Analytics and they appear in SigninLogs and related tables.
