Terms in this definition
- WMI
The interface for reading and modifying Windows system information, queried using WQL. Azure Monitor does not collect data through it.
- Serverless
Compute tier for single Azure SQL databases that scales automatically, pauses when idle and charges by the second. It is offered in General Purpose and Hyperscale, not Business Critical, and reserved capacity does not apply.
- Azure Monitor
Observability platform for Azure that brings together metrics, logs and traces from both Azure and hybrid resources so they can be analysed and alerted on.
- FILTER
Returns just those rows of a table that meet a condition. In CALCULATE it handles conditions too complex for a Boolean filter argument, though a Boolean filter is faster whenever one will work.

Attached to a GPO, this WQL query means the policy only applies to computers where it evaluates to true, such as those running a certain OS version.
