- All resources (Conditional Access)
Broadest Conditional Access target, previously called All cloud apps, which takes in every resource such as Microsoft 365 and the Azure portal. Microsoft Azure Management covers less.
- Azure Data Studio
Database tool retired on 28 February 2026 that once carried the Azure SQL Migration extension. Since then, Database Migration Service jobs are started from the Azure CLI, PowerShell or the Azure portal.
- Azure SQL Migration extension
Azure Data Studio extension, now retired along with that tool in February 2026, that ran online or offline Database Migration Service migrations of databases to SQL Database or SQL Managed Instance. DMS is now driven from the Azure portal, PowerShell or the Azure CLI.
- Case management
Tracks SecOps work in the Defender portal as cases, either incident or generic, complete with SLA policies, attachments, comments, tasks and a history of changes. Sentinel in the Azure portal lacks it.
- Cloud Secure Score
Shown in the Microsoft Defender portal, this posture score weights outstanding cloud recommendations by how risky each is, by whether assets face the internet and similar factors, and by how critical those assets are. The Azure portal keeps the older classic score.
- IAM
Short for identity and access management. The Azure portal's Access control (IAM) blade is where RBAC roles are assigned.
- Keys and Endpoint
Page in the Azure portal for an Azure OpenAI or Foundry Tools resource, listing the resource's REST endpoint together with its two access keys, Key1 and Key2.
- Log Analytics
Lets you write and run queries over a Log Analytics workspace from the Azure portal, either point-and-click in Simple mode or by writing KQL.
