Terms in this definition
- VPN
Traffic sent through an encrypted tunnel across a public network, as in a site-to-site connection to a VPN gateway in an Azure GatewaySubnet.
- VNet
A private network belonging to a single subscription and region and covering all of that region's availability zones. A VM can only use a VNet located in the same region.
- Geographic
A Traffic Manager routing method that picks the endpoint according to where the user is located geographically.
- On-premises data gateway
Connector that lets Power BI, Logic Apps and Power Apps reach data held on-premises. Azure Data Factory does not use it.
- App Service
Managed PaaS hosting for web apps and Web App for Containers, run in a sandbox without OS access. Deployment slots and autoscale start at the Standard tier.
- Hybrid Connections
An App Service feature that uses Azure Relay and the Hybrid Connection Manager to reach one on-premises host and port. It has no effect on VNets or routing.
