Terms in this definition
- Agents (classic) API
First-generation Foundry Agent Service API, based on threads, messages and runs. It is deprecated, replaced by conversations and responses, and retires on 31 March 2027.
Related terms
- Active Directory Recycle Bin
Once switched on it can't be disabled, and it needs Windows Server 2008 R2 forest functional level or higher. Removed objects retain all attributes, so restoring them doesn't call for an authoritative restore.
- Allow storage account key access
Storage setting which, once disabled, makes every request authorised by Shared Key fail with 403, covering account keys plus account and service SAS. Microsoft Entra identities gain nothing from it, and user delegation SAS keeps working.
- Autotune
A preview option in Fabric Spark that studies previous runs to pick better values for shuffle partitions, broadcast join threshold and max partition bytes query by query. It's disabled by default (
spark.ms.autotune.enabled), limited to Runtime 1.2, and incompatible with private endpoints and high concurrency mode. - backup log analysis
Diagnostic capability, run by the Veeam Analytics service, which looks through Backup & Replication log files for signs of problems already known to Veeam. Each backup server can have it enabled or disabled from the data collection settings.
- Branch-to-branch
Optional Azure Route Server feature, disabled by default, that passes routes among NVAs and the VPN and ExpressRoute gateways in its VNet, enabling transit between ExpressRoute and site-to-site VPN.
- CAE
Instead of letting an access token run until it expires, Microsoft Entra continuous access evaluation allows Microsoft Graph, Teams, SharePoint Online, Exchange Online and similar services to end a session almost straight away. Triggers include a disabled account, a password reset, revoked tokens, high user risk or a move to a different network location.
- Container Apps peer-to-peer encryption
Environment option, disabled by default, that encrypts app-to-app traffic in Container Apps with TLS using platform-managed certificates; apps are authenticated to one another, but calls between them aren't authorised by it.
- Encrypted vSphere vMotion
Encrypted VMs always migrate this way; for others it is a per-VM choice of Required, Opportunistic or Disabled. Encrypting the vMotion data keeps it confidential and guards its integrity and authenticity.
