Storage account option, fixed at creation, that decides how endpoint host names are built; Azure DNS zone endpoints insert a zone identifier so far more accounts are possible. Access and networking costs are unaffected.
Also called Standard / Azure DNS zone endpoints.

Each book explains Endpoint type in context, with comparison tables and the common traps.
Terms in this definition
- Storage account
The top-level resource in Azure Storage, giving a unique namespace for table, queue, file and blob data. Location, performance and kind are set when it is created and cannot change.
- Azure DNS
Family of Azure services for hosting and resolving DNS, covering public zones, private zones and DNS Private Resolver; you can't register domain names through it.
- INSERT
Adds fresh rows to a table. You list the target columns and supply a value for each; it is part of Data Manipulation Language (DML).
- AGDLP
Nesting pattern: users go into global groups, which go into domain local groups, which receive the permissions. AGUDLP adds universal groups for forests with several domains.
Related terms
- Batch endpoint
Endpoint type for asynchronous scoring jobs: data in storage is split into mini-batches, processed in parallel on a compute cluster, and results are saved back to storage. Choose it for large scheduled workloads, not when low latency matters.
- External endpoint
Traffic Manager endpoint type pointing to an IPv4/IPv6 address or FQDN, which can be outside Azure. MultiValue routing accepts only External endpoints defined by IP address.
