Related terms
- CIO
The chief information officer: the senior person accountable for IT. Often sponsors the move to the cloud.
- Cloud governance team
Team that evaluates the risks of using the cloud, writes rules to address them and then makes sure those rules are applied and watched everywhere. It partners with the strategy team on budgets and who is accountable for spending.
- DISA
US agency responsible for STIGs; VCF Operations compliance includes a DISA regulatory benchmark out of the box.
- ESP
The IPsec protocol responsible for encrypting a packet's payload. Network security group rules can filter on it as a protocol.

- LSASS
The Windows process responsible for authenticating sign-ins, which keeps credentials in memory and is therefore a favourite target for credential theft. An attack surface reduction rule guards it, though that rule adds nothing once LSA protection is enabled.

A Power BI app for keeping an eye on Fabric and Power BI Premium capacities, set up by whoever administers the capacity. The Compute view covers the last 14 days of capacity unit usage and throttling, down to the items and operations responsible.
- Network Watcher IP flow verify
Checks a 5-tuple against the security and admin rules on a VM's NIC and reports whether it is allowed or denied, naming the rule responsible. Only TCP and UDP are supported, and scale sets are excluded.
