- Agent memory
The past conversation and knowledge an AI agent draws from it, such as summaries, facts and user profiles, saved so the agent keeps context from one turn or session to the next. Azure Cosmos DB and Azure Managed Redis are common places to keep it.
- AI enrichment
Indexing-time process in Azure AI Search where skills such as OCR, key phrase extraction, entity recognition and image analysis turn raw content into fields that can be searched.
- Azure Content Understanding in Foundry Tools
Foundry Tool whose generative AI analyzers turn documents, images, audio and video into structured fields by extracting, classifying or generating values.
- Azure Rights Management
The service that does the actual encrypting behind sensitivity labels, message encryption and DKE in Purview Information Protection, attaching usage rights to protected content. Newer tenants get it switched on automatically; older ones turn it on with PowerShell.
- Controlled configuration
In preview, this builds on tamper protection so Antivirus and ASR settings coming from Intune override anything set locally, by Configuration Manager or by Group Policy. You turn it on in the Antivirus profile of the Windows Security experience.
- Copilot Free
A no-cost GitHub Copilot plan, which you can join from within SSMS, with a monthly cap on chat requests and completions. Administrators can turn it off through policy.
- CORS
Short for cross-origin resource sharing, a W3C standard: a server uses it to tell browsers that pages from other origins may call it. Both Container Apps and App Service let you turn it on with a few portal options; doing so loosens the browser's same-origin restriction and is not a security feature.
- Cross-partition query
Also known as a fan-out query: in Azure Cosmos DB, a query with no partition key filter, which therefore has to visit each physical partition in turn. Each partition visited costs roughly 2.5 RU or more, so these queries consume more request units.
