Indexed, searchable key-value attributes set on blobs, which lifecycle rules can filter on via blobIndexMatch and ABAC conditions can use; filtering by them isn't possible with a SAS.

- Index field attributes
Settings applied to each field in an Azure AI Search index:
searchablefor full text, retrievableto return it,filterablefor exact-match$filter,sortable,facetablefor counts, andkeyfor the unique document ID. - Set
Secret permission in Key Vault for writing secrets; some older material refers to it as Create.
- FILTER
Returns just those rows of a table that meet a condition. In CALCULATE it handles conditions too complex for a Boolean filter argument, though a Boolean filter is faster whenever one will work.
- Azure ABAC
Attribute-based conditions added on top of Azure RBAC role assignments, such as granting access only to blobs carrying a certain index tag. Blobs (ADLS Gen2 included) and queues support them; Azure Files and Tables do not.
- Serial Attached SCSI
SAS for short: the interface typically found on server drives and shared JBOD enclosures; Storage Spaces handles it alongside NVMe and SATA. Don't mix it up with Azure's shared access signatures.
Related terms
- Defender for Storage malware scanning
As blobs are uploaded, Microsoft Defender Antivirus checks them. Charges are per GB, limited each month per account (10,000 GB by default), and results can land in blob index tags, Event Grid, Log Analytics or security alerts.
- Storage Blob Data Owner
Data-plane built-in role granting full control of blob data and containers, including setting blob index tags and POSIX ACLs.
