Terms in this definition
- VM
A computer implemented entirely in software, having virtual hardware and its own guest OS; ESX hosts run it and vCenter manages it.
- AMD SEV-SNP
Hardware feature from AMD that encrypts and isolates virtual machine memory; the confidential VM series DCasv5/DCadsv5 and ECasv5/ECadsv5 rely on it.
- DCasv5
General-purpose confidential VM sizes protected by AMD SEV-SNP. Sizes with lookalike names, such as Ddsv5 or D2ads_v5, offer no confidential computing.
