Terms in this definition
- Full-text index
Built with CREATE FULLTEXT INDEX, this token-based index covers xml, character or varbinary(max) columns in a table or indexed view. Each table can have just one, and it needs a single-column, unique, non-nullable key index.
- WHERE
Limits a SELECT, UPDATE or DELETE to just the rows meeting a condition. Omit it, and the statement hits every row.
Related terms
- Audience
Setting on a point-to-site VPN gateway using Microsoft Entra ID authentication; it contains the app ID of the Azure VPN Client or of a custom app. Only a single Audience value is allowed per gateway.
- Automatic attack disruption
A Microsoft Defender XDR feature that links signals into a high-confidence incident and, while ransomware, business email compromise or a similar attack is still in progress, contains the affected accounts and devices on its own. Security staff can reverse these actions.
- Azure Blob Storage
Azure's service for huge volumes of unstructured objects like documents, pictures, video, backups and logs. A storage account contains containers, which contain blobs, and everything is accessed over HTTPS or HTTP.
- Catalog
The first level of Unity Catalog's
catalog.schema.tablenaming and the primary boundary for isolating data. Privileges granted on a catalog flow down to every schema and object it contains. - Commit mention linking
Azure Repos ties a pushed commit to a work item whenever its message contains
#plus that item's number. - COUNT
A DAX function returning how many non-blank numbers, dates or text values a column contains. Boolean columns need COUNTA instead, and for counting the rows of a table COUNTROWS is the better choice.
- DISTINCTCOUNTNOBLANK
A DAX function returning how many different values a column contains while leaving BLANK out of the count, which DISTINCTCOUNT does not do.
- Factless fact table
Contains dimension keys but no measures. Each row either records that an event occurred, so rows are counted, or links two dimensions that have a many-to-many relationship.
