- DAX
Short for Data Analysis Expressions, the formula language you write measures, calculated columns and row-level security rules in, within tabular semantic models in Power BI, Excel Power Pivot or Analysis Services.
- CRUD
Shorthand for create, read, update and delete, the four basic things you do with data. Data-plane roles in Azure Cosmos DB, for instance, authorise those operations on items.

Snapshot of an agent's configuration that cannot be changed. Every edit, a single prompt tweak included, produces a new one, and rolling back simply means referencing an earlier version.

Available since version 1.6, this function lets a Data API builder config file pull in a Key Vault secret at load time from the vault endpoint you've configured. Substitutions made with
@env()happen earlier. - Android device administrator
An older way of managing Android that's now deprecated and can't be used on devices that have Google Mobile Services. Its documentation is kept only for certain devices without GMS running Android 15 or earlier.
- Architecture decision record
A running log of the significant architectural choices made for a workload, recording for each one the context, the alternatives weighed, what was decided, the trade-offs and its status. Entries are never edited: if a decision changes, a fresh record is added that supersedes the earlier one.
- DATEADD
Shifts the set of dates in the current filter context by a given number of years, quarters, months or days, earlier or later. Prior-year comparisons are a typical use of this DAX time intelligence function.
- DC agent
Runs on every writable domain controller as a password filter, checking each password change against banned password lists downloaded earlier. A restart is needed after installing it, and if the proxy is down it keeps enforcing the policy it has cached.
- DenyAllInBound
The priority-65500 default NSG rule that drops any inbound traffic, internet included, which no earlier rule has allowed.
- Dynamic value reference
A placeholder in double braces, such as
{{job.parameters.<name>}}, that Lakeflow Jobs replaces at run time with details about the job or run, a parameter's value or a value passed on by an earlier task.
