Related terms
- Auto-policy management
A setting on vSAN ESA clusters that builds and applies a default storage policy specific to the cluster, picking the best fault tolerance for its size and type. vSAN OSA clusters do not offer it.
- Encrypted FT
Protects Fault Tolerance logging between the primary and secondary copies of an SMP-FT VM. Opportunistic (the default) encrypts if both hosts are capable; Required only places the VM on capable hosts.
- SMP
An architecture in which several identical processors share memory under one operating system. In vSphere it describes a VM with multiple vCPUs; Fault Tolerance can protect these (SMP-FT) up to 8 vCPUs, maintaining a secondary copy on a different host.
