Terms in this definition
- WHERE
Limits a SELECT, UPDATE or DELETE to just the rows meeting a condition. Omit it, and the statement hits every row.
Related terms
- FREETEXTTABLE
Gives back a KEY and a RANK for each matching row, matching as FREETEXT does; the output is then joined to the base table using its full-text key.
- SQL full-text search
A Database Engine capability that indexes words in text columns so that CONTAINS, FREETEXT and their table-valued versions can find words, phrases, word forms and synonyms and rank the hits. On big text columns it is much quicker than LIKE.
