Terms in this definition
- EARLIER
Within nested DAX row contexts, lets an inner calculation read a column as it stood in an outer pass; EARLIEST jumps to the outermost. Most people now use variables, which read more clearly.
- Image Analysis
Azure Vision API that returns several visual features in a single request: for instance tags, a caption, text recognised by Read OCR and the bounding boxes of detected objects.
- RANGE
Usable only in visual calculations, this DAX function picks a span of rows along an axis counted from the current one, say the previous six. Think of it as a simpler WINDOW, handy for moving totals.
- Document Intelligence add-on capabilities
Extra Document Intelligence options switched on with the features query parameter: barcodes, formulas, keyValuePairs, languages, ocrHighResolution, queryFields and styleFont.
- Image tagging
An Image Analysis feature producing single-word tags, each with a confidence score, for actions, scenery, objects and living things in an image.
- Description (Image Analysis 3.2)
Visual feature in Image Analysis 3.2 that produces natural-language caption sentences sorted by confidence, read from Description.Captions[0].Text. Version 4.0 swaps it for Caption.
- Color scheme detection
Tells you the main foreground, background and accent colours of a picture and whether it is black and white; part of Image Analysis 3.2.
Related terms
- Adult content detection
Image Analysis 3.2 capability, needing no training, that flags images through isAdultContent, isRacyContent and isGoryContent with scores between 0 and 1. Newer moderation is offered by Azure AI Content Safety.
- Brand detection
Recognises the logos of thousands of well-known brands from a built-in catalogue, giving back each name with a confidence and bounding box; available in Image Analysis 3.2, and your own logos call for a trained custom model.
- Domain-specific content detection
Image Analysis 3.2 capability, via analyzeImageByDomain or the details parameter, that identifies landmarks or celebrities and returns their names rather than a descriptive caption.
- Face detection (Image Analysis)
Image Analysis 3.2 capability returning a bounding rectangle per face found. Identifying or verifying people requires the Face service instead.
- Image type detection
A feature only in Image Analysis 3.2 that flags line drawings and scores clip art from 0 to 3. Descriptions and object detection do not determine image type.
