Gives back the lowest value found in a column holding numbers, dates or text, or compares two expressions and returns the lower. For TRUE/FALSE values, which this DAX aggregation doesn't accept, turn to MINA.

Terms in this definition
- VALUES
Returns in DAX the distinct column values, or table rows, still visible after filters are applied, sometimes with an extra blank entry. CALCULATE often takes the result as a table filter.
- DAX
Short for Data Analysis Expressions, the formula language you write measures, calculated columns and row-level security rules in, within tabular semantic models in Power BI, Excel Power Pivot or Analysis Services.
- TURN
If a direct link can't be made, RDP Shortpath for Windows 365 relays UDP traffic via Microsoft servers on port 3478 instead.
- MINA
Finds a column's lowest value in DAX while scoring TRUE as 1 and FALSE as 0. Text comparisons need MIN instead.
Related terms
- Compute cluster
Azure Machine Learning compute of several managed CPU or GPU nodes that scales from
min_instancestomax_instanceswith each job; set the minimum to 0 and an idle scale-down time so you pay only when jobs are running. - Data skipping
Avoiding reads of files that cannot hold matching rows, using column statistics such as min, max and null counts gathered per file at write time. Liquid clustering and Z-ordering improve how much gets skipped.
- Table.Profile
Summarises each column of a table as one output row showing min, max, mean, standard deviation, row count, nulls and distinct values. It is an M function.
- Validity interval
How far back change data capture changes can be read for a capture instance, bounded by the LSNs from sys.fn_cdc_get_min_lsn and sys.fn_cdc_get_max_lsn. Requests beyond it raise error 313.
