Terms in this definition
- Geographic
A Traffic Manager routing method that picks the endpoint according to where the user is located geographically.
- Traffic Manager
A global traffic router working purely through DNS, with methods such as priority, weighted, performance and geographic, for any protocol. HTTP traffic never passes through it and it caches no content.

- Advanced Analytics
Adds device query, device scopes, a device timeline, anomaly detection, resource performance and battery health on top of endpoint analytics. It comes with the Intune Suite and with Intune Plan 2.
- Application Insights Profiler
Capability of Application Insights that records performance traces from a running app, revealing slow requests and hot paths in the code. User behaviour is not what it profiles.
- Azure Advisor
Azure service that reviews resources you already run and recommends improvements in cost, performance, reliability and security based on best practice.
- Azure Internet Analyzer
Now-retired Azure service for measuring how internet performance looked to end users connecting to Azure endpoints.
- Azure Migrate appliance
Discovery VM run on premises and registered to exactly one Azure Migrate project; it is deployed from a Hyper-V VHD, a VMware OVA or an installer script, finds servers without agents and collects the performance data that assessments draw on.
- Azure Monitor Logs
Within Azure Monitor, the store for log data: records of logs and performance counters are kept in Log Analytics workspaces, where KQL queries retrieve them.
- Azure Well-Architected Framework
A set of Microsoft design guidance aimed at raising the quality of a workload. Its five pillars cover reliability, security, cost optimisation, operational excellence and the efficiency of performance.
- Bi-directional relationship
Here filters travel from either table to the other. That helps with many-to-many bridges, but because it can hurt performance and produce ambiguous paths, Microsoft Learn suggests turning it on only when needed or using CROSSFILTER in a measure. Row-level security still filters one way unless the setting to apply security filters both ways is chosen.
