Terms in this definition
- Set
Secret permission in Key Vault for writing secrets; some older material refers to it as Create.
- Virtual WAN
A networking service built around hubs that Microsoft manages. The Basic type handles only site-to-site VPN; Standard brings in ExpressRoute, point-to-site and full transit.
- WHERE
Limits a SELECT, UPDATE or DELETE to just the rows meeting a condition. Omit it, and the statement hits every row.
- defaultRouteTable
Every Virtual WAN hub ships with this route table, labelled Default. Unless configured otherwise, each connection associates with it and propagates routes to it, and branches are required to remain associated.
- Virtual hub
Inside a Virtual WAN, a VNet managed by Microsoft that contains the hub router plus the VPN, ExpressRoute and User VPN gateways. Typically there is one per region, but several hubs can share a region.
Related terms
- Activity explorer
A Microsoft Purview view of the last 30 days of events involving sensitive or labelled items, for example a label being added, altered or taken off, or a DLP rule being triggered. Its data comes from the unified audit log.
- Advanced label-based protection for all files on devices
An Endpoint DLP option for onboarded Windows computers. Users can go on working with labelled files that are not Office or PDF files while the extension stays the same; the label's print, view and extract rights are enforced on the device, and the file is encrypted once it is moved off it.
- Auto-labelling policy
A Purview policy that labels content without user involvement: documents stored in SharePoint and OneDrive and messages passing through Exchange. It is tested in simulation mode before being turned on, and unlike labelling in the Office apps it cannot just suggest a label.
- Azure Information Protection
Service that classifies and protects documents in Office apps, applying a single label to each (if several match, the last one in the policy wins). Its classic client has been retired, with Microsoft Purview sensitivity labels taking over.
- AzureAppConfigurationImport@10
Pushes key-values into an App Configuration store from a file (properties, YAML or JSON) during a pipeline run; tags, a label, a key prefix and strict mode can be added if wanted.
- BGP community
Label attached to routes Microsoft advertises, such as 12076:5010 marking one service or region. Route filters, and routers on premises, match on these values to decide which prefixes to take.
- Button slicer
Lets report users filter by clicking styled tiles laid out in a grid; each tile can include a picture, conditional formatting and a highlight label.
- Client-side labelling
Automatic labelling defined inside a sensitivity label, which suggests or applies it in Office apps such as Outlook and Word as people work, with the user having the final say. Labelling done by the service relies on auto-labelling policies instead.
