A value between 100 and 4096 that sets the order of NSG rules for a given direction. Lower numbers are checked first and evaluation halts on the first match, so an allow exception needs a smaller number than the deny it overrides.
Also called NSG.

Each book explains Security rule priority in context, with comparison tables and the common traps.
Terms in this definition
- Default security rules
Built-in NSG rules at priorities 65000-65500: AllowVnetInBound, AllowAzureLoadBalancerInBound and DenyAllInBound, plus AllowVnetOutBound, AllowInternetOutBound and DenyAllOutBound. Removal is impossible; custom rules at 100-4096 take precedence.
- FIRST
A DAX function available only inside visual calculations. It fetches the value at the start of one axis of the visual's matrix, which makes it handy for comparing each point with the first; its opposite is LAST.
- MATCH
Used in WHERE when querying SQL Graph, it describes how to walk from node to node through edge tables, with patterns written like p1-(f1)->p2.
- Deny
An Azure Policy effect that stops any create or update request that would break the policy.
