Terms in this definition
- WAN
A network connecting sites in different geographic locations; for Azure's hub-based service, refer to Virtual WAN.
- Connection
Resource that attaches a virtual network gateway to its peer, which may be an ExpressRoute circuit, a second VNet gateway (Vnet2Vnet) or a local network gateway over IPsec. Resetting it recovers a single tunnel and avoids rebooting the whole gateway.
- AD DS
Short for Active Directory Domain Services, the domain controller-based Windows directory run on-premises. Microsoft Entra Domain Services offers a managed counterpart.
- Azure Artifacts feed
Holds packages (Cargo, Universal, Python, Maven, npm, NuGet) in Artifacts; it belongs to a project or the organisation and supports views, feed roles and upstreams.
Related terms
- Bridge all site links
Enabled by default, this makes site links transitive so the KCC may chain them for replication. Switching it off means manually created site link bridges govern routing.
- Site link bridge
Chains site links together in AD DS so replication across them is transitive. By default every site link is already bridged; a bridge assumes a network path exists rather than creating one.
