- General-purpose v1
The older storage account kind (
Storage), which lacks access tiers, Archive and premium file shares and retires on 13 October 2026. Converting to ZRS requires first upgrading to GPv2, a one-way change. - Table properties
Key-value metadata on tables and views, case-sensitive, from users or the system. Add them via
TBLPROPERTIESorALTER TABLE ... SET TBLPROPERTIES, remove them viaUNSET TBLPROPERTIES; Delta reads some, likedelta.logRetentionDuration, as configuration.

- Allowed storage account SKUs
A built-in Azure Policy that limits the SKUs people may pick for a new storage account. It keeps redundancy and spending in check when a workload has no need for the pricier options.
