Terms in this definition

Microsoft's device management service, once branded Microsoft Endpoint Manager. Its compliance policies are what the compliant-device grant in Conditional Access relies on.
- Set
Secret permission in Key Vault for writing secrets; some older material refers to it as Create.
- CRUD
Shorthand for create, read, update and delete, the four basic things you do with data. Data-plane roles in Azure Cosmos DB, for instance, authorise those operations on items.
- Table options
Set only at creation with
OPTIONS, these key-value storage settings can't be altered or dropped afterwards; on Delta tables they also show up among the table properties. - Feature updates
Once a year, in its second half, Microsoft ships a new Windows version; installing it upgrades the device and starts a fresh servicing lifecycle.
Related terms
- Expedite policy
An Intune policy, built on Windows Autopatch, that pushes one selected security quality update (or an eligible non-security one) out as fast as possible, ignoring the deferrals in update rings.
- Windows Update client policies
Settings governing how PCs receive updates from Windows Update, covering things like deferrals and deadlines. In Intune they are set through update rings.
