Terms in this definition
- OVER
Gives a T-SQL window function its window: PARTITION BY, ORDER BY and, if wanted, a ROWS or RANGE frame. Rankings and running totals can then be worked out while every row is kept.
- Small multiples
Turns a bar, column, line or area chart into a grid of mini charts, up to six across and six down. Whatever field goes in the Small multiples well decides how many panels appear, one per value, and their axes are kept in sync.

- LOOKUP
Inside a visual calculation, this DAX function retrieves a value from the visual matrix using whatever filters you supply, and works out any you omit from the context it is evaluated in.
- LOOKUPWITHTOTALS
Inside a visual calculation, this DAX function retrieves a value from the visual matrix using whatever filters you supply; for any missing ones it uses the total.
- NEXT
Restricted to visual calculations, this DAX function reads the value one step further along an axis of the visual matrix; writing OFFSET with 1 gives the same result.
- PREVIOUS
Fetches the value of the preceding element along an axis of the visual matrix. This DAX function works only in visual calculations and is equivalent to OFFSET with -1.
