Terms in this definition
- Role
How an actor normally or expectedly behaves, or the part a person takes in a process. A single actor may hold more than one role.
- OVER
Gives a T-SQL window function its window: PARTITION BY, ORDER BY and, if wanted, a ROWS or RANGE frame. Rankings and running totals can then be worked out while every row is kept.
- PXE
Lets a machine start up over the network. Windows Deployment Services depends on it, as does BitLocker Network Unlock.
- BitLocker Network Unlock
Lets domain-joined servers reboot without anyone typing a PIN: when they're on a trusted wired network, a WDS server holding the Network Unlock certificate unlocks the system drive.
- Capability
Something that a person, organisation or system is able to do.
Related terms
- Network Unlock
With this BitLocker capability, domain-joined machines secured by TPM plus PIN can boot without the PIN when connected by cable inside the company. A certificate and a WDS server running Network Unlock are prerequisites.
