AZ-305 is free on Kindle this weekend (2–4 October)

The Kindle edition of Ultra Transcenders AZ-305: Designing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions is free on Amazon this weekend, from Friday 2 October to Sunday 4 October 2026.

Amazon runs free promotions from midnight to midnight Pacific time, so in the UK it’s free from about 8am on Friday until 8am on Monday 5 October. Use the buttons below to get it from Amazon.co.uk or Amazon.com. Once you’ve downloaded it, it’s yours to keep.

What’s in the book

AZ-305 is the design exam for the Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification. It doesn’t test where a setting lives in the portal. It tests whether you can choose the right design for a set of requirements, and explain why. The book is built around exactly that:

• Fourteen chapters by technology: identity and access, governance, keys and secrets, monitoring, storage, relational databases, Cosmos DB, data integration and analytics, compute, containers, application integration, networking, backup and disaster recovery, and migration.
• Comparison tables for the close calls, such as which load balancer, which Azure SQL option or which storage redundancy fits a requirement.
• 84 common-trap callouts that name the answers that look right but aren’t.
• 18 architecture diagrams, including storage redundancy, private endpoint DNS and the management hierarchy.
• A glossary of 650+ terms, each linked to Microsoft Learn, with the same terms explained free online.

Try a chapter first

If you’d like to see the style before downloading, several sections are free to read on this site:

• Designing Azure storage redundancy and account failover
• Choosing an Azure SQL deployment option
• Azure load balancing: Front Door vs Application Gateway vs Load Balancer vs Traffic Manager
• Cosmos DB consistency levels explained

Taking AZ-104 as well?

The Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification needs both AZ-104 and AZ-305. The AZ-104 book covers the administration side, organised the same way, so the two work well together.

If the book helps, a short review on Amazon makes a real difference to an independent series. Thank you, and good luck with the exam.
