Each book explains Checksum in context, with comparison tables and the common traps.
Terms in this definition
- Sensitive information type
Classifier based on patterns, such as credit card numbers, that policies and labels rely on to spot sensitive content. You can also define custom ones.
- Model parameters
The weights a model learns in training, which together hold what it knows. How many there are is what distinguishes a small language model from a large one.
- Set
Secret permission in Key Vault for writing secrets; some older material refers to it as Create.
- XML
A text-based format for data, used for instance in message bodies.
Related terms
- Data consistency verification
An optional Copy activity check (
validateDataConsistency) that compares row counts when copying tables, or file size, modified date and checksum when copying binary files. The extra checking makes the copy slower. - Luhn check
A validator you can attach to the regular expression in a custom sensitive information type so that only values passing the Luhn checksum, like real credit card numbers, count as matches.
- NHS number
Every patient of the UK's National Health Service has a ten-digit identifier. Purview's ready-made sensitive information type finds it and verifies its checksum.
- Test conditions
Rules added to a SQL Server unit test action to judge its outcome, for example Row Count, Scalar Value, Expected Schema or Data Checksum. Freshly created tests include one marked Inconclusive.
- Validator
A test applied to a regular expression match in a sensitive information type before the match is accepted, for example a checksum, Luhn check, date check or built-in function.
