- AGDLP
Nesting pattern: users go into global groups, which go into domain local groups, which receive the permissions. AGUDLP adds universal groups for forests with several domains.

Protocol for remote sessions, chiefly on Linux, using TCP port 22.
- configuration database
Veeam stores details of its infrastructure, jobs and sessions in this SQL Server or PostgreSQL database, which can be local or remote and is tidied each week by DatabaseMaintenance.
- Cloud Credentials Manager
Holds the logins Veeam needs for cloud platforms, such as AWS keys, Azure accounts, Google Cloud accounts and Cloud Connect accounts, encrypted inside the configuration database. Logins for servers are kept elsewhere, in the Credentials Manager.
