Terms in this definition
- Real-Time Intelligence
Microsoft Fabric's workload for data in motion. Using eventstreams, eventhouses with KQL databases, the Real-Time hub, Real-Time Dashboards and Activator, it takes in events, processes, stores and analyses them, and acts on them.
- Serverless
Compute tier for single Azure SQL databases that scales automatically, pauses when idle and charges by the second. It is offered in General Purpose and Hyperscale, not Business Critical, and reserved capacity does not apply.
- CES
Sends every row change in a stream group's tables to Fabric Eventstream or Azure Event Hubs, each as a CloudEvent. It's in preview for SQL database in Fabric, Managed Instance, Azure SQL Database and SQL Server 2025; delivery over AMQP was deprecated on 15 August 2026, with Kafka the recommended route.
- Azure Artifacts feed
Holds packages (Cargo, Universal, Python, Maven, npm, NuGet) in Artifacts; it belongs to a project or the organisation and supports views, feed roles and upstreams.
Related terms
- Stream group
Made with sys.sp_create_event_stream_group, this change event streaming object says where changes go (Fabric Eventstream or Azure Event Hubs) and which tables are included, along with the credential, message size and partitioning.
