Each book explains IP network rule in context, with comparison tables and the common traps.
Terms in this definition
- Storage firewall
Restricts a storage account's public endpoint through IP, VNet, resource instance and trusted-service rules. When no rule exists, the endpoint is reachable from any network.
- IPv4
The 32-bit version of IP addressing. It remains the address format you will see most often in log data and threat indicators.
- CIDR
Notation for IP ranges that writes an address followed by a prefix length, as in 10.1.255.0/24; short for Classless Inter-Domain Routing.
- RANGE
Usable only in visual calculations, this DAX function picks a span of rows along an axis counted from the current one, say the previous six. Think of it as a simpler WINDOW, handy for moving totals.
- MATCH
Used in WHERE when querying SQL Graph, it describes how to walk from node to node through edge tables, with patterns written like p1-(f1)->p2.
- region
A provider-defined grouping in VCF Automation of Supervisors that all share one NSX Local Manager; tenants consume its compute, storage and memory via quotas set per region.
