Terms in this definition
- View
Shows a system through one chosen group of related concerns. No view is generic; each one is tied to whichever architecture it depicts.
- Container insights
Gathers logs and performance data from AKS and other containerised workloads as part of Azure Monitor.
- Pod
The smallest thing Kubernetes deploys: a group of one or more containers that share storage and networking. Pods are normally created through a Deployment instead of by hand.
- Container
Something that groups data. Blob Storage containers sit inside a storage account and hold blobs much as folders hold files; Cosmos DB containers hold items and set the scope for partitioning and throughput.
- kubectl
Command-line tool for working with workloads in a Kubernetes cluster, installed by running
az aks install-cli. Cluster-level AKS settings like the cluster autoscaler are set through Azure instead. - Get
Key Vault permission on secrets that allows a single secret to be read; App Service Key Vault references need nothing beyond it.

- 3-2-1 rule
A guideline for keeping backups safe: hold three copies of your data (the live data and two backups) on two kinds of storage, and keep one of them away from the main site. Veeam's best practice adds an immutable or offline copy and zero errors, confirmed with SureBackup, giving 3-2-1-1-0.
- Dynamic threshold
Rather than being typed in by an administrator like a static one, this VCF Operations threshold is learnt from past and live data to capture what is normal for every object.
