Terms in this definition
- Share
In OpenSharing, the container you fill with tables, views, volumes, models and notebooks for recipients. You need
CREATE SHAREon the metastore to make one; add a schema and all its assets, including later ones, go with history. - General-purpose v1
The older storage account kind (
Storage), which lacks access tiers, Archive and premium file shares and retires on 13 October 2026. Converting to ZRS requires first upgrading to GPv2, a one-way change. - Model deployment
Inside a resource, each deployment is a named copy of a Foundry model with its own TPM quota and deployment type. Requests identify the model by this deployment name.
Related terms
- Agentless discovery for Kubernetes
Capability in Defender CSPM and Defender for Containers that inventories Kubernetes clusters and assesses their posture through APIs, using the Kubernetes Agentless Operator role. Pod admission and blocking are outside its scope.
- Azure CNI
Network plugin for AKS in which each pod receives an IP address from the VNet; virtual nodes depend on it.
- Container group
ACI's top-level unit, comparable to a Kubernetes pod: one or more containers placed on the same host, sharing ports, an IP, volumes and a lifecycle; if it holds several containers, it must run Linux.
- Live data
Real-time portal view in Container insights showing pod metrics, events and container logs, much as kubectl top pods, get events and logs would.
- OOMKilled
Shown when a container uses more memory than its limit allows and the Linux out-of-memory killer ends it, exit code 137. This is a container-level event, unlike the kubelet evicting a pod.
- Replica
Container Apps runs each revision as one or more copies, and every copy is a replica (Kubernetes uses the term for copies of a pod template too). How many run is decided by scale rules, between minReplicas and maxReplicas.
