Terms in this definition
- NAS
Storage appliance serving files over a local network; Azure Files can stand in for or sit alongside it.
- Deployment modes
The two ways ARM can deploy: Incremental, the default, creates or updates what the template lists and ignores everything else; Complete also removes resource group contents absent from the template.
- Set
Secret permission in Key Vault for writing secrets; some older material refers to it as Create.
- Unstructured data
Information with no set data model, like logs, video, images, documents and other text or binary files. Azure Blob Storage is the service designed to store it.
Related terms
- file to tape job
Sends data held on NDMP volumes, NAS shares, and Windows or Linux machines out to tape. A GFS variant can retain yearly, monthly and weekly archives.
- NetApp ONTAP
NetApp's storage OS. Veeam works with it for snapshots, native changed file tracking via SnapDiff and NDMP tape backups; with a Linux backup server, SnapDiff v3 has to be enabled beforehand.
