The two ways ARM can deploy: Incremental, the default, creates or updates what the template lists and ignores everything else; Complete also removes resource group contents absent from the template.
Also called Incremental, Complete.

Terms in this definition
- ARM
Short for Azure Resource Manager, the control plane Azure uses for deploying and managing resources.
- Resource group
Container for Azure resources. Its location holds only metadata and cannot be changed afterwards, and one resource group cannot sit inside another.
Related terms
- actionOnUnmanage
Controls what a deployment stack does with resources that drop out of its template: detach them or delete them. The delete option takes over from complete deployment mode, which is on the way to deprecation.
- Application ID URI
Set on the Expose an API page, defaulting to
api://<application-client-id>, this globally unique value names a web API. Prefixing it to a scope name gives the complete scope string. - Azure Data Share
Azure service for sending data to another organisation's subscription as full or incremental snapshots on a schedule.
- Azure Service Bus Data Owner
Grants complete control over Service Bus data operations, meaning it can send and receive messages as well as manage entities and filters. If an app needs only one direction, Data Sender or Data Receiver keep permissions tighter.
- Azure SQL Managed Instance
Fully managed SQL Server instance offering almost complete compatibility, including SQL Agent, CLR and queries across databases; disaster recovery to another region is achieved with auto-failover groups.
- Bypass policies when completing pull requests
A branch permission in Azure Repos that allows someone to override failing branch policies and complete the pull request anyway.
- CALENDARAUTO
Scans the model for its first and last dates and returns a continuous Date column covering complete calendar years, or fiscal years when you pass a year-end month. As later dates arrive through refresh, this DAX function's range grows to include them.
- Case management
Tracks SecOps work in the Defender portal as cases, either incident or generic, complete with SLA policies, attachments, comments, tasks and a history of changes. Sentinel in the Azure portal lacks it.
