Terms in this definition
- Connection
Resource that attaches a virtual network gateway to its peer, which may be an ExpressRoute circuit, a second VNet gateway (Vnet2Vnet) or a local network gateway over IPsec. Resetting it recovers a single tunnel and avoids rebooting the whole gateway.
- FIDO2
An open standard, used together with WebAuthn, that underpins passkeys and hardware security keys. Sign-in relies on a private key kept on the device in place of a password, so it resists phishing.
- OVER
Gives a T-SQL window function its window: PARTITION BY, ORDER BY and, if wanted, a ROWS or RANGE frame. Rankings and running totals can then be worked out while every row is kept.
- USB
Universal Serial Bus, for connecting peripherals. A BitLocker startup key can live on a USB stick, and although Storage Spaces will take USB drives, using them is not advised.
