Each service has its own private DNS zone where private endpoints register, for example privatelink.blob.core.windows.net (Blob), privatelink.database.windows.net (SQL), privatelink.documents.azure.com (Cosmos DB) or privatelink.azurewebsites.net (App Service).
Also called privatelink zone.

Terms in this definition
- Private DNS zone
A zone in Azure DNS for private records (A records, for example), linked to VNets. Because only 168.63.129.16 resolves it, clients on-premises must go through a DNS forwarder or Azure DNS Private Resolver.
- WHERE
Limits a SELECT, UPDATE or DELETE to just the rows meeting a condition. Omit it, and the statement hits every row.
- BLOB
Short for binary large object: raw binary data, like pictures, audio, video or documents, that only an application can make sense of. Azure keeps these files as blobs in Blob Storage.
- Serverless
Compute tier for single Azure SQL databases that scales automatically, pauses when idle and charges by the second. It is offered in General Purpose and Hyperscale, not Business Critical, and reserved capacity does not apply.
- Cosmos DB
NoSQL database distributed globally, offering writes in multiple regions, automatic indexing and latency below 10 ms.
- App Service
Managed PaaS hosting for web apps and Web App for Containers, run in a sandbox without OS access. Deployment slots and autoscale start at the Standard tier.
