Terms in this definition
- IPv4
The 32-bit version of IP addressing. It remains the address format you will see most often in log data and threat indicators.
- IPv6
Addressing based on 128 bits, available in Standard public IPs and dual-stack VNets. Public IPs for Azure Firewall and Bastion have to be IPv4.
- NIC
Network interface card, the network interface of a VM; NSGs can be associated with it.
- Gateway Load Balancer
A load balancer SKU that inserts transparent third-party NVAs into the path of a Standard Load Balancer frontend, using VXLAN to chain them.
- SKU
The size or tier of a service, for example a VM size or the Premium tier of ACR.
