- Standard deployment type
A Foundry deployment type billed per token that keeps processing of prompts and responses inside the Azure geography of the resource, meeting data residency needs at lower volumes.
- Archive
Offline access tier for blobs, cheapest to store yet dearest to access. Reading a blob means rehydrating it first, which can take as long as 15 hours.
- Azure OpenAI
Use of OpenAI models in Azure, including GPT, o-series, embeddings, image and Whisper, through either a Foundry resource or an Azure OpenAI resource. Content Understanding isn't available from a standalone Azure OpenAI resource.
- Foundry Tools
Microsoft's collection of AI APIs that can be used ready-made or customised, spanning areas such as Vision, Speech, Language, Document Intelligence, Content Safety and Content Understanding.
- Azure Vision in Foundry Tools
Foundry Tool for analysing images, reading text from them (OCR) and detecting faces. Image Analysis API versions 3.2 and 4.0 are both deprecated, with retirement set for 25 September 2028.

Foundry Tool that pulls text and fields out of forms and documents using read, layout, prebuilt models (such as invoice and receipt) and custom models.
