Terms in this definition
- Container
Something that groups data. Blob Storage containers sit inside a storage account and hold blobs much as folders hold files; Cosmos DB containers hold items and set the scope for partitioning and throughput.
- Capability
Something that a person, organisation or system is able to do.
- Model parameters
The weights a model learns in training, which together hold what it knows. How many there are is what distinguishes a small language model from a large one.
- Revision
Every container app version is captured as an unchangeable snapshot. Changing anything in revision scope produces a fresh one, and in multiple revision mode traffic can be divided across several active at once.
- Route table label
Name for a set of route tables in Virtual WAN hubs, used when choosing where routes propagate; Default, for instance, covers the defaultRouteTable of every hub.
Related terms
- Canary release
Exposing a new version to a small slice of users first and widening it while monitoring looks healthy. Needs dynamic traffic splitting, so it's more complex than blue-green.
- Istio
A service mesh offered as an AKS add-on, providing mTLS, routing and traffic splitting.
