Terms in this definition
- FIRST
A DAX function available only inside visual calculations. It fetches the value at the start of one axis of the visual's matrix, which makes it handy for comparing each point with the first; its opposite is LAST.
- LAST
Restricted to visual calculations, this DAX function reads a value from the final position along one of the visual's axes. Writing INDEX(-1) gives the same result.
- Deployment modes
The two ways ARM can deploy: Incremental, the default, creates or updates what the template lists and ignores everything else; Complete also removes resource group contents absent from the template.
- CALENDAR
Generates a date table as a calculated table: given a start and end date, this DAX function returns a single column, called Date, listing every day in between, including both ends.
- MONTH
A DAX date function giving a date's month as a whole number, where 1 is January and 12 is December.
- DAX
Short for Data Analysis Expressions, the formula language you write measures, calculated columns and row-level security rules in, within tabular semantic models in Power BI, Excel Power Pivot or Analysis Services.
- RANGE
Usable only in visual calculations, this DAX function picks a span of rows along an axis counted from the current one, say the previous six. Think of it as a simpler WINDOW, handy for moving totals.
