Each line of this plain-text file is one object, and together they define a categorisation model. Veeam ONE Client imports it either just once or on every data collection, producing the groups and categories behind inventory groups.
Also called comma-separated values.

Terms in this definition
- DEFINE
An optional keyword at the start of a DAX query, placed before the first EVALUATE, for declaring things such as measures and variables that exist only for that query. A measure declared this way replaces a model measure with the same name just while the query runs.
- Veeam ONE Client
Desktop application for Windows, used above all to watch virtual and backup infrastructure as it happens through alarms, charts, dashboards and Business View. It can talk to a Veeam ONE Server installed locally or on another machine.
- data collection
A recurring job in the embedded Veeam ONE server. Each pass pulls inventory, properties, tags and custom attributes from connected servers, then refreshes categorisation groups.
Related terms
- API-driven inbound provisioning
Inbound Microsoft Entra provisioning in which an app or script submits SCIM bulk requests built from any HR source, a CSV file for instance. The ECMA connector, by contrast, provisions outbound.
- FIELDTERMINATOR
Tells COPY INTO which character divides the columns in a CSV file. If left unset, commas are assumed.
- FIRSTROW
Tells COPY INTO which line of a CSV file to begin loading from. The default is 1; use 2 to skip a header.
- MoRef
In a Business View CSV file, this field identifies each object. vSphere items use VMware's reference number; Hyper-V items use their ID or UUID.
- OneDrive refresh
Roughly every hour, the Power BI service checks the .pbix, Excel or CSV file that a semantic model and report came from, if it lives on OneDrive or SharePoint Online, and syncs any changes. Scheduled data refresh is different: it queries the underlying sources.
- protection group
An inventory container for computers that Veeam Agents will protect, whether added individually, from Active Directory, from a CSV file, from the cloud or as pre-installed agents. It also carries the settings for discovering those computers and deploying agents to them.
