Terms in this definition
- ALL
A DAX function that ignores any filters and gives back every row of a table or every value of the named columns. Used within CALCULATE, it works as a modifier that clears filters, although REMOVEFILTERS states that intent more clearly where it is available.
- Business View
Categorisation feature that sorts infrastructure into groups and categories reflecting business needs, for example purpose or department, which are then usable for alerting, monitoring and reports.
- Veeam ONE Server
Heart of the product: it gathers information from hypervisors and Veeam backup servers, then writes it to the database. Installing it also brings the Monitoring and Reporting services, the Web API and the Veeam Analytics service.
Related terms
- Alarm Management
The part of Veeam ONE Client, organised by object type, where you adjust the predefined alarms, build your own alarms and set up internal ones.
- Backup Proxies Overview
A Veeam ONE Client dashboard on the Proxies node of a backup server that summarises how VM, general-purpose and CDP proxies are configured and how well they perform.
- B&R Job
A built-in category in Veeam ONE Client that sorts VMs according to the backup jobs, replication jobs or CDP policies protecting them on connected backup servers. Deleting it is allowed; renaming or editing it is not.
- CSV file
Each line of this plain-text file is one object, and together they define a categorisation model. Veeam ONE Client imports it either just once or on every data collection, producing the groups and categories behind inventory groups.
- Manual assignment
A categorisation approach in Veeam ONE Client where you pick objects yourself and drop them into groups within static categories, namely multiple-condition categories and CSV categories imported by hand.
- Monitored Datastores
A tab under Server Settings in Veeam ONE Client used to select the datastores that reports should cover.
- Tabs View
Turns the Veeam ONE Client into a rotating display, flicking between dashboards on its own for wall screens in an operations centre. It is off until you enable it, can cover one object or a wider scope, and pauses when anyone touches the Client.
- tag import
Lets Business View pick up vCenter tags and SCVMM custom properties as default categories, configured in Veeam ONE Client. All of them come across unless changed, except any whose name a category already uses.
