Terms in this definition
- Role
How an actor normally or expectedly behaves, or the part a person takes in a process. A single actor may hold more than one role.
- Govern
The part of the Cloud Adoption Framework concerned with keeping cloud use under control by setting guardrails made of policies, procedures and tools. It runs continuously across the estate alongside Secure and Manage.
- Power BI
Microsoft's analytics and reporting service. It reaches data held on-premises through the on-premises data gateway.
- Tenant
A trusted, dedicated Microsoft Entra ID instance that stores the users, groups and app registrations of one organisation. A subscription trusts only a single tenant, although a tenant can be trusted by several subscriptions.
- Table options
Set only at creation with
OPTIONS, these key-value storage settings can't be altered or dropped afterwards; on Delta tables they also show up among the table properties. - RENAME
Gives an existing object in a database, such as a table, a different name; it is a DDL command.
Related terms
- Capacity administrator
Assigned when a Fabric capacity is created, this role applies to that one capacity only. Its holders can alter settings, attach workspaces, add contributors and override any tenant settings delegated to the capacity; it is not the same as the Fabric administrator role.
- Promoted
Anyone who can write to a Fabric or Power BI item (dashboards excepted) can endorse it this way to signal it is ready to share and reuse. Certified and Master data, by contrast, require reviewers that a Fabric administrator has authorised.
- removeLabels
A Power BI admin REST API for stripping sensitivity labels from many items at once, identified by item ID; setLabels is its counterpart. Only a Fabric administrator holding the Tenant.ReadWrite.All scope can call it, with a cap of 25 calls per hour and 2,000 items per call.
- SetLabelsAsAdmin
Bulk-labels Power BI items with a sensitivity label via an admin REST API. RemoveLabelsAsAdmin takes labels off again; only a Fabric administrator can call either.
