Anyone who can write to a Fabric or Power BI item (dashboards excepted) can endorse it this way to signal it is ready to share and reuse. Certified and Master data, by contrast, require reviewers that a Fabric administrator has authorised.

Terms in this definition
- Power BI
Microsoft's analytics and reporting service. It reaches data held on-premises through the on-premises data gateway.
- RAMP
The approach used by the Cloud Adoption Framework's Manage methodology to structure cloud operations: teams, duties, processes and tools. It divides what the central platform handles from what each workload handles.
- Share
In OpenSharing, the container you fill with tables, views, volumes, models and notebooks for recipients. You need
CREATE SHAREon the metastore to make one; add a schema and all its assets, including later ones, go with history. - Certified
The higher of the two endorsement levels, above Promoted. It tells users an item has been checked by an authorised reviewer and meets organisational quality standards; a Fabric admin turns the feature on and decides who may certify.
- Master data
Reserved for an organisation's authoritative reference records, such as its list of customers or its product codes, this endorsement can be given only by people named in a specific tenant setting.
- Fabric administrator
Whoever holds this Entra role can govern Fabric and Power BI end to end, setting tenant options and looking after domains and workspaces. Until a 2023 rename, Microsoft called it Power BI administrator.

- Endorsement
Marks a Fabric or Power BI item as trustworthy. Promoted is open to anyone with write permission, Certified is limited to reviewers chosen by a Fabric admin, and Master data, reserved for data items, to specified users. Endorsed items rise to the top of certain lists.
- Feed retention policies
Lets a Feed Owner cap how many versions of each package an Azure Artifacts feed keeps; once the cap is hit, versions not downloaded within a set number of days are deleted. Anything promoted to a view is safe.
- Feed view
Lets you share only validated packages from an Azure Artifacts feed, read-only. Packages are promoted into them; @Local is the default, alongside @Prerelease and @Release.
- KQL job
KQL query, run once or on a schedule, against the Microsoft Sentinel data lake, reaching back as far as 12 years; its results can be promoted into the analytics tier.
