Terms in this definition
- Dashboard
Page in VCF Operations built from widgets that display object metrics, properties, alerts and relationships. Predefined and custom dashboards exist, and either kind can be shared.
- Health advisories
Azure Service Health notices about upcoming changes that require action, for instance retiring features or mandatory upgrades. They do not report live outages.
Related terms
- Azure status
Public page, viewable without signing in, reporting how healthy every Azure service is across every region. Since it lists only broad incidents, check Azure Service Health for problems with your own resources.
- Message center
The place in the Microsoft 365 admin center, under Health, where Microsoft posts news of coming changes, new features, retirements and scheduled maintenance. Problems happening now are reported in Service health instead.
- Microsoft 365 admin center
Microsoft's main portal for running an organisation's Microsoft 365 services, found at admin.microsoft.com. Admins use it for users, groups, licences, billing, domains and roles, to check service health and Message center, and to configure Copilot and agents, with shortcuts to the more specialised portals.
- Microsoft Entra Health
An area of Microsoft Entra for monitoring service health, giving near-real-time signals and anomaly alerts for scenarios like MFA and compliant-device sign-ins (preview), plus monthly SLA attainment. Viewing it requires Reports Reader or higher.
- Planned maintenance
Updates Microsoft schedules for the Azure platform. Most leave VMs untouched; where a reboot is needed, Service Health gives notice and a period during which you can trigger the maintenance on your own timetable.
- Post Incident Review
A report Microsoft publishes after an Azure incident explaining the cause and the fixes it is making. Only the widest-reaching incidents appear in the public status history; customers who were affected receive theirs through Service Health.
- Resource Health
Part of Service Health that reports whether a single resource is Available, Unavailable, Degraded or Unknown, now and in the past, with the reason if known and suggested actions.
- Service Support Administrator
A Microsoft Entra role whose holders can view service health and raise support tickets. The service health views on the Intune Tenant status page depend on it.
