Short for cross-origin resource sharing, a W3C standard: a server uses it to tell browsers that pages from other origins may call it. Both Container Apps and App Service let you turn it on with a few portal options; doing so loosens the browser's same-origin restriction and is not a security feature.
Also called cross-origin resource sharing.

Terms in this definition
- Standard deployment type
A Foundry deployment type billed per token that keeps processing of prompts and responses inside the Azure geography of the resource, meeting data residency needs at lower volumes.
- Container
Something that groups data. Blob Storage containers sit inside a storage account and hold blobs much as folders hold files; Cosmos DB containers hold items and set the scope for partitioning and throughput.
- App Service
Managed PaaS hosting for web apps and Web App for Containers, run in a sandbox without OS access. Deployment slots and autoscale start at the Standard tier.
- TURN
If a direct link can't be made, RDP Shortpath for Windows 365 relays UDP traffic via Microsoft servers on port 3478 instead.
- Table options
Set only at creation with
OPTIONS, these key-value storage settings can't be altered or dropped afterwards; on Delta tables they also show up among the table properties.
