Terms in this definition
- Azure DevOps
Microsoft's suite of DevOps services, among them Azure Boards and Azure Pipelines.
- LIKE
Compares strings with a pattern that can contain the % and _ wildcards. Because it only understands character patterns, searching big volumes of text this way is much slower than using full-text search.
- Pipeline
Groups activities logically so that, together, they move and transform data, either one after another or side by side; found in both Azure Data Factory and Microsoft Fabric.
- Secret
Object in Key Vault storing an arbitrary string value, for instance a password, API key or connection string.
- Approvals and checks
Resource owners configure these in the web portal rather than YAML, on environments, agent pools, repositories, secure files, variable groups and service connections; a stage can't use the resource until all pass. GitHub's equivalent: environment protection rules.
- YAML
A data format designed to be easy for people to read, used for Container Apps definitions, ACR multi-step tasks and Kubernetes manifests.
