Terms in this definition
- VCF Operations
VCF's console for running the fleet. It covers alerting, monitoring, capacity, reporting, log analysis and licensing alongside fleet management of identity, passwords, certificates and lifecycle.
- OVER
Gives a T-SQL window function its window: PARTITION BY, ORDER BY and, if wanted, a ROWS or RANGE frame. Rankings and running totals can then be worked out while every row is kept.
- Dedicated
Running Azure Functions on an App Service plan, which removes the execution time limit and offers VNet integration on Basic and higher tiers.
- VMware Cloud Foundation
Broadcom's platform for private cloud. It unifies management of NSX, vSAN, vSphere, VCF Automation and VCF Operations as one fleet; VVF, by contrast, lacks automation and cloud management.
Related terms
- Azure security baseline (Machine Configuration)
Built-in Machine Configuration baselines for Azure and Arc-enabled machines: the Azure Security Baseline for Windows or Linux and the CIS Linux Benchmarks. Since built-in definitions are read-only, you tailor them with the Modify settings wizard under Policy > Machine Configuration.
- Regulatory compliance standard
Defender for Cloud lets you add built-in frameworks, ISO 27001, CIS, NIST SP 800-53 or AWS Foundational Security Best Practices among them. Each is applied as an assignment of a policy initiative, so Owner or Resource Policy Contributor rights are needed.
- VCF Benchmarks
Compliance checks in VCF Operations for NSX, vSAN, vCenter, SDDC Manager and ESX, drawn from three sources: the VCF security baseline (the VCF Audit Guides), the CSA Compliance Pack and the CIS Compliance Pack for VCF.
